Sitangkai

I traveled about two and a half hours from Bongao to Sitangkai, excited to document this remote island in Tawi-Tawi. However, heavy rain stranded me for an extra day, giving me an unexpected chance to capture the island’s serene beauty in a quieter, more reflective light. As I explored the rain-soaked streets and interacted with the locals, I photographed the peaceful resilience of island life, the simple moments, the landscapes, and the warmth of the community. What began as an unplanned setback turned into a deeper, more intimate exploration of Sitangkai.
